Block 0: Borrowing the words of others
Assignment 0: Collective reader
Block 1: Forms of text in the artistic practices
In this block we will look at and comment on the work of artists who use words in different ways. We will do this via collective viewing sessions distributed throughout the block under the title: «Read, written, said, sung, resaid». We will put special focus on performative readings or non-academic conferences, as they form the basis of this block’s assignment “Loose Associations.”
Assignment 1: Loose Associations.
Block 2: Writing around and about art
In this block we will work on different ways of writing, thinking of different ways of approaching an artwork or being an artist through our use of words. This will include writing about our own artwork and also the work of others. We will write in different ways including, amongst others; neutrally, critically and creatively. These disparate pieces of writing will be collated and submitted in the assignment «Me, this and that».
